GUATEMALA – VOLCANO DE FUEGO ERUPTION
AN UPDATE
Many of you have asked why we did not start fundraising the day of the volcano eruption. Our answer is that emergency relief is not what we do and we chose to step aside and let those foundations who do it well obtain the resources they needed.
As we all know, there is always a huge initial outpour of support for disaster victims. We also know it does not last and when that initial relief effort is over and it comes to reconstruction the faucet has been turned off.
BUT THAT IS WHEN OUR WORK STARTS
We are asking now click here for your support because when the more than 3000 survivors leave their temporary shelters, they will have nothing to return to. The land they once owned is now uninhabitable. Their work tools, animals, and housewares are all gone. They have lost everything including loved ones.
Join us in helping the survivors reconstruct their lives.
Depending on your generosity and available funds, it could be just a house for one family ($4,000) or beds for many. As always, 100% of your donation will go into these projects. Our administrative costs are covered through the sale of handcrafts and registration fees paid by our mission participants.
